Meet the Farmers
22nd October 7pm
For this special evening, we’re looking just across the fields to Poynings Grange, which can be seen from The Ginger Fox.
The six-acre vineyard was planted in 2010 and is owned and run by Rupert and Esme Crowther, who carry out much of the work among the vines themselves.
Alongside the vineyard, Poynings Grange is a working farm producing lamb, Sussex beef and seasonal fruit. It is difficult to imagine a more local dinner. The farm is right there in view, and its produce will make the very short journey from the fields and vines to our kitchen.
Rupert and Esme will join us for the evening, sharing the story of Poynings Grange and what goes into farming and winemaking on this special corner of the South Downs.
Our chefs have created a five-course menu around produce from the farm, beginning with canapés and a complimentary glass of Poynings Grange fizz, and because this is a night all about good food, good wine and the people behind both, we’ll be dining together around sharing tables.
